  • you discover, that your mind has a mind of it’s own

  • your mind is like a roommate, that you can’t throw out

  • expending Willpower (Disziplin) is exhausting … your emotional part does not fight fair

  • “yea it’s on my mind … but i didn’t but it there”

  • Philosophie back then was about ideas to live a good life

  • Stoic Meditation is not paying attention … but stepping outside of yourself … and observing yourself like you do others all the time

2 Negative Visualisation

  • a common answer to how to become happy is: getting the things you want

  • Gap Theory of Happines

    • you are unhappy, because you see a gap between what you want and what you have
    • but there are TWO ways to close this gap
    • seccond way: want the things, you already have
  • A millionare is just on a more expensive Hedonic Treadmill, than a normal person … but still a treadmil

  • accept, savour, appreachiate the life you have

  • Negative Visualisation

    • pick one thing you have, that is important to you
    • then imagine yourself (visualizing) not having that
    • helps to not take things for granted
    • can make simple things, become a special moment
    • wears off with time … so do repeatetly
