some thoughts:

  • in case you are buying stuff for a business… meaning a lot of it … you will run into: many online stores are just crappy as they are optimized for individualy buying once… and persuading them to buy… not for efficient selection of products.
    • so: let’s make one productDB where you can find everything from every store. indexed. good selection/cart management software. automatable. integration directly into ERP systems.
  • also track/visualize trends and compare prices like eg idealo or Geizhals.
  • income through affiliate links or custom deal with manufacturers. a paid version. (3month free trial of premium features. you can use premium features at a very limited amount for free)
  • a “proper product selection”
    • selected people trusted by PPC TrustNet. figuring out the best (or the few best, wich tradeoffs, comparisions) product for all your needs.
    • so that you don’t have to waste time researching/comparing products yourself… just use what those ppl suggest… and you’ll be fine.
    • focusing on: repairability, lasting long, quality, environmental impact, support, fairness in production, price, company mission/values, how much the producer is focused on profit margin or making a good product, features.
    • Important: any sponsoring by companies can in no way impact their inclusion here!!
    • I hope if many ppl trust this selection… companies will more focus on producing a really great product… to increase their chances of inclusion here.
  • try to cut out any middlemen as much as possible.. ideally manufacturer directly ships to customer.
  • using all data to optimize how far products have to be shipped… aka figure out where to build factories next.
  • also a fresh food system which does not work like “a supermarked has everything stocked”… but “you see how much was harvested → how much is stored in your area … to make decisions on what best to buy” (and i hope prices will also be adusted based on how much is in supply)…
    • obviosly has tracking back to every farm which produces any of the food.
    • reduce food waste!
    • make food supply a lot more resilient… by fostering a web of small independent entities contributing food… less relience on giant food logistics companies. (obviosly copies of the software hosted by many ppl talking to each other.)
  • later on work directly with factories… to produce products which have no good candidates in the “proper products lineup”.
