“I literally share my brain (and most of it’s ideas) with the world on the PPC Wiki”… I am so much a “thinker” and not a “doer”… I by far don’t have the Agency to do my ideas on my own and also they are way to many/big for one person to do… so I think sharing them for other ppl to do (hopefully more together with me, join me in making them real, …), is the best I can do.

I cultivate a (quite large, about 2255+ notes as of today, TODO: have automatically updating number of notes here…) Second Brain in my Obsidian Vault called “things”. I dump all my ideas, findings, knowledge, … in there… It is very well linked together and every tiniest “thing” gets it’s own named note. This makes it possible to navigate solely through the quick switcher (searching through note names and aliases) and the links/backlinks between the notes…

I am completely with No Boilerplate, who said in a video that you should not use Folders for organizing your notes AT ALL… (rel: Zettelkasten, I it like that even before seeing his video). I started with multiple folders in my vault for different things, but more and more just moved all my notes were into the one folder called “kasten” (short form for Zettelkasten).

There is no need to think at all about where a note should go (which I think would be wasted effort) I just give it a good name, maybe multiple names with Aliases and add links to it to related “things” (I of course use the shorter “rel” to denote related things, to have less to type…), where I found it, the train of thought, resources which lead to this note’s creation, … I always find the things I’m looking for in my vault.

There are plans for an even better system of jumping from one “thing” to another… to find what you are looking for with MiZe (rel). For example: use a fast date selector to jump to the note for a particular day (or select a range of days) search “youtube” to get to the Youtube videos you watched that day/those days search for a “thing” and find the one video where this thing (with any of it’s names… or the closest related thing) is mentioned in the title, description, comments, transcript…

The publishing setup

The only thing I use Folders for is besides keeping any other files separate from my notes (in a “files” folder) (daily notes are also seperate)… separating what is private and what is public.

There is a command defined with the Obsidian Shell Commands Plugin, which rsyncs this public folder to a server into Quartz’s content folder and then runs the npx quarz build there.
